Description

WHAT IS ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY?
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery encompasses the entire diagnostic and surgical treatment of the
head, neck, face, jaws, and cranium. It will also concentrate on the building of structures. In this
speciality, we take great pride in offering our dental clients multidisciplinary, all-inclusive surgical
and diagnostic services for specific locations, such as the head and neck.
OMF is a surgical specialty demanding both medical and dental degrees. Also, all Oral & Maxillofacial
Surgeons must have a registrable dental qualification. Furthermore, some even see it as the bridge
between medicine and dentistry. Also, it treats conditions that need expertise from both medical
and dentistry backgrounds, such as head and neck cancers, facial disproportion and pain, salivary
gland diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders, cysts and tumours of the jaws, impacted teeth,
as well as numerous problems that affect the oral mucosa including mouth ulcers and infections.
SLEEP DENTISTRY
Are you terrified of the dentist? In that case, you’re not alone. In fact, most people are afraid of the
dentist for many reasons. According to The Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, about 22
percent of patients experience extreme fear or anxiety about seeing the dentist. Some can have
sensitive oral nerves, which makes the procedure more painful for them. Others have had bad
experiences and memories from the past that make them fearful of their next trip to the dentist. So,
sleep dentistry could be the most comfortable and relaxing solution for anyone who’s not too keen
on the idea of dentistry or is trying to avoid essential treatment due to anxiety.
WHAT IS SLEEP DENTISTRY?
Here at DDC, we understand that having to go through any dental work can be scary and sometimes
terrifying for some people. However, massive advancements in dental technology now allow dentists
to provide options for their patients. Additionally, in our clinic, we offer sleep dentistry (or what is
also called sedation dentistry) for our dear patients.
The practice of doing dental procedures under general anesthesia on a patient who is essentially
“asleep” is sleep dentistry. Additionally, people who experience anxiety or a fear of dental care
frequently use it. This will undoubtedly guarantee that the people are as comfortable as possible.
Our doctors at DDC will be there to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the entire operation.
We will keep you informed of every step we take during this period as well.
